BEFORE YOU CALL

  • If you smell gas, call 911 and get out of the building.
  • If you suspect a carbon monoxide, call 911 and get out of the building.
  • If you have a large water leak, turn off your water main.
  • If water is flooding near electrical, call 911 and get out of the area/building.
  • If any systems start smoking, turn off the unit.
  • Below are additional items to check.

If your AIR CONDITIONER does not work, you should check these before calling.

  • Make sure the thermostat is set lower than the indoor temperature, and also that the switch is set to the cool or auto position.
  • Check your electrical box in the house and the one located by the outdoor unit in case it is turned off, a breaker tripped, or a fuse is bad.
  • Check if your furnace filter needs to be replaced. This can cause the airflow to be reduced.
  • Check the batteries in your thermostat – if you have a digital thermostats that requires batteries.
  • Make sure all registers are open and free of anything that may prohibit air flow.
  • If problems still persist, contact us.

If your FURNACE does not work, you should check these before calling.

  • Make sure the thermostat is set above your indoor temperature, and also that the switch is set to the heat or auto position.
  • Check your electrical box in the house or by the furnace in case it is turned off, a breaker tripped, or a fuse is bad.
  • Check the batteries in your thermostat – if you have a digital thermostats that requires batteries.
  • Check if your furnace filter needs to be replaced. In some cases, air restriction will cause the furnace to shut down.
  • Check your outside exhaust and intakes. They can get covered with snow and ice.
  • Make sure all registers are open and free of anything that may prohibit air flow.
  • Check to make sure you have your gas valve in the “On” position.
  • For LP and oil users, check to make sure your tank is filled or at least 20%.
  • Check all drain lines to see if they have any obstruction or are plugged.
  • If problems persist, give us a call.

If your HEAT PUMP does not heat or cool your house when in use, try these before calling.

  • Make sure the thermostat is set above (for heat) or below (for cooling) from your indoor temperature. Also make sure the switch is set to the correct setting – heat or cold.
  • Check your electrical box in the house or and the one located by the outdoor unit in case it is turned off, a breaker tripped, or a fuse is bad.
  • Check the batteries in your thermostat – if you have a digital thermostats that requires batteries.
  • Check if your furnace filter needs to be replaced. In some cases, air restriction will cause the furnace to shut down.
  • Make sure all registers are open and free of anything that may prohibit air flow.
  • If problems persist, give us a call.

If your GAS or OIL BOILER does not work, try these before calling.

  • Make sure the thermostat is set above your indoor temperature. Also make sure the switch is set to the heat position. The fan can be in any position – auto or on.
  • Check your electrical box in the house or by the furnace itself in case it is turned off, a breaker tripped, or a fuse is bad.
  • Check the batteries in your thermostat – if you have a digital thermostats that requires batteries.
  • Check to make sure you have your gas valve in the “On” position. For LP users, check to make sure your tank is filled, or at least 20%.
  • Check to make sure you have enough oil in the tank to have the boiler operate.
  • Check the water pressure on the boiler gauge – you want about 12-15 on closed systems. On open systems, they should be around 8lbs on the gauge.
  • Check to see if you can visually see the pump running.
  • If problems persist, give us a call.
